As I have been looking through some articles for my Blog, I have uncovered the very interesting supposition that this summer’s attacks (2009) were timed coinciding with the 50th anniversary of ETA. Especially with the more frequent terrorist activity over the summer, this supposition makes a lot of sense. I never would have though of this myself, but according to a variety of news sources, this was the case this summer.
How do you feel about the American media’s coverage/lack of coverage of this summer’s terrorist attacks? From what I’ve heard, most Americans have no idea about the bombings in Palma de Mallorca. Do you think more American and/or global awareness of what they are doing would help the Spanish people in their fight against ETA?
